Day 1 - Darwin to Kakadu - Ubirr & Guluyambi - LD
7:00am pick up from your Darwin accommodation. Travel across the Marrakai floodplains of the Adelaide River and towards Kakadu. After a brief stop for a ‘tourist’ photo snap at the entry to Kakadu we make our way towards Ubirr. View ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr and take in the spectacular scenery as we climb atop the rocky outcrop for majestic views of the Arnhemland sandstone plateau. Join the Guluyambi Cultural cruise on the East Alligator River to gain an amazing insight into local customs and dreamtime stories from the local Indigenous guide. We may even see a few Crocodiles! Travel to our overnight campsite..
DAY 2 - Kakadu - Jim Jim & Twin Falls - BLD
Time for a a spot of real 4 Wheel Driving today as we travel out towards Jim Jim and Twin Falls. After crossing the Jim Jim creek, we arrive at Twin Falls and cruise through the gorge, admiring the towering escarpment from the sandy beach. En route back to Jim Jim, we have an early lunch and walk to the Budjimi lookout for spectacular views of the escarpment walls. Arriving at Jim Jim Falls, walk through the monsoon forest and enjoy an invigorating swim in the plunge pool. Return late afternoon back to our camp at Djarradjin Billabong.
Day 3 - Kakadu - Warradjan Cultural Centre & Maguk - BLD
Visit one our favourite waterfalls, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). Nestled amongst the sandstone escarpment at the end of a paperbark lined creek. The rock pools above and the plunge pool below the falls provide a refreshing swim option. Arriving at Gunlom we take a hike to the top of the escarpment and enjoy a refreshing swim in the infamous Gunlom infinity pool. Watch our last magical Kakadu sunset before a quick scramble back down the ridge before it gets too dark and enjoy another hearty meal.
Day 4 - Kakadu to Katherine - Edith Falls & Cultural Tour - BLD
After breaking camp, enjoy a refreshing swim in the Gunlom plunge pool before setting off towards Katherine. Exiting Kakadu from the south we call in at the old gold mining town of Pine Creek and take in some of its history. We continue towards Katherine and detour into the northern sector of Nitmiluk National Park, for a walk and swim at Edith Falls. Continue through to Katherine for our afternoon Top Didge Cultural Tour. Late afternoon set up camp at Nitmiluk Gorge.
Day 5 - Katherine to Litchfield - Nitmiluk Gorge Cruise - BLD
This morning there are a couple of options for you! Note these options must be decided at time of reservation as canoes are limited.
